SYNOPSIS
Two dancers on the opera stage suddenly notice the underlying social climate seeping through cracks in the mise en scène. Bewildered at first, they soon decide to join in on the protests.

Behind the scenes (2015)
BACKGROUND
Comissioned by the Royal Opera House as part of a live brief for Kingston University.
Based on Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny by Bertolt Brecht, a political-satirical opera composed by Kurt Weill.
The film combines found news footage from the Brixton Riots with Victorian paper doll cutouts. The film was made using stop-motion and greenscreening.
Made in collaboration with Harriet Staniford and Amy Edwards Green.
